Last weekend, Ruta del Vino Almansa welcomed a group of influencers from the gastronomy, leisure and travel sectors, who are a national reference on Facebook and Instagram, and who enjoyed two days of wine tourism in Higueruela, Almansa and Alpera.
The group, formed by @dondecomenoelia (specialized in enograstrotourism), @españaconmigo(specialized in travelling around Spain in a different way), @mapaymochila (travel blog), @modotraveller (travel and gastronomy blog) and @elblogdepalo (blog specialized in cultural tourism and gastronomy) could know the wine tourism attractions of all our region, taste a selection of wines from our Denomination of Origin Almansa and, of course, enjoy our rich gastronomy in reference restaurants along the route.
Saturday and Sunday: visit in Higueruela and Almansa
During the day on Saturday, some of the wineries adhered to the route were visited, such as Bodega Rodriguez de Vera, Tintoralba and Bodegas Cano, and in which different references of wines from the area made with Garnacha Tintorera were tasted. In addition, in Higueruela a stop was made for lunch at one of the reference restaurants of our Almansa Wine Route: Restaurant + Ideas. They also traveled, with the help of Rocío Jiménez, manager of our route, to see first hand two natural and historical attractions of Higueruela, such as the Salobralejo lagoon and the archaeological site Alquería de la Graja . Saturday’s dinner took place in Almansa, at the Mesón de Pincelín restaurant .
Sunday’s day began in the historic center of Almansa, in a visit organized by Herminio Gómez and in which the group was able to access the Castle of Almansa and also discover the Museum of the Battle of Almansa. To finish the visit in Almansa, they also visited the winery Hacienda El Espino and Bodegas Matamangos, two of the wineries that are part of our DO Almansa and where they tasted a selection of the best wines from the team of the wineries.
A day that ended with a visit to the historical heritage of Alpera.
Afterwards, the group headed to Alpera to visit Bodega Santa Cruz de Alpera and discover its wines, as well as to taste the local gastronomy at Los Arcos Restaurant and its traditional cuisine specialized in grilled meats: and always paired with wines from ourDO Almansa!
The visit concluded in Alpera with the arrival at the Pozo de las Nieves and the cave paintings of the Cueva de la Vieja, two of the historical and cultural references that we are fortunate to have in our region. Thus ended this complete visit of the group of influencers that we hope to visit again very soon in our Almansa Wine Route.
