The Ruta del Vino Almansa is presented in Albacete through an immersive experience to promote the wine tourism, heritage and gastronomy of the territory

The Casino Primitivo in Albacete hosted the presentation of the Ruta del Vino Almansa on Thursday, 11 June, through an experiential and participatory event designed to bring the essence of this wine tourism destination closer to the public. The route is made up of the municipalities of Almansa, Alpera, Higueruela and Hoya-Gonzalo, and the event aimed to encourage attendees to come and discover it for themselves.

Under the slogan “¡Nos vamos de ruta!”, the Ruta del Vino Almansa invited guests to discover the territory through the five senses: its wines, flavours, heritage, landscapes and experiential tourism proposals, all brought together in an immersive and innovative experience.

The opening of the event included representatives from the Provincial Council of Albacete, with José Antonio Gómez, Provincial Deputy for the Environment in Albacete; Ramón Sáez, Provincial Delegate for Agriculture and Livestock; Isabel Martínez, representing CEDER Monte Ibérico; and Antonio González, President of the Ruta del Vino Almansa. The event was also attended by mayors and representatives from the different municipalities that form part of the route.

The event, limited to 100 guests, brought together the general public, associations, institutional representatives, tourism and cultural opinion leaders, travel organisers, media outlets and professionals linked to the sector, with the aim of creating new promotional opportunities and strengthening awareness of the Ruta del Vino Almansa as a tourist destination.

Throughout the tour, attendees were able to discover the unique features of the four municipalities that make up the Ruta del Vino Almansa. In this space, the four elements — air, earth, fire and water — played a key role in representing the essence, curiosities and most distinctive features of each town.

The tour then continued with the different wine tourism experiences offered by the seven wineries that belong to the Route, from visits and tastings to experiences designed to enjoy both wine and the territory.

The Almansa Designation of Origin also had its own dedicated space, focused on enjoying wine through the five senses. Through sounds of nature, aromas, textures and other sensory elements, attendees were able to delve into the identity of the DO Almansa in a participatory and distinctive way.

In addition, the travel agencies that belong to the Route presented different proposals for booking complete experiences in the area, combining accommodation, gastronomy and winery visits, making it easier to plan wine tourism getaways to the Ruta del Vino Almansa.

To bring the experience to a close, several prize draws were held featuring gourmet products and local goods provided by businesses belonging to the Route, also reinforcing the value of local gastronomy and nearby commerce within this wine tourism destination.

From the Ruta del Vino Almansa, the importance of this type of initiative was highlighted as a way to continue giving visibility to the destination and strengthening its role as a wine tourism proposal within the province. “We want everyone who joins us to take away a little piece of our route and, above all, a real desire to come and visit us,” said Antonio González, President of the Ruta del Vino Almansa.

The event also featured a broad representation of the 46 members that currently form part of the Ruta del Vino Almansa, reflecting the joint work carried out by wineries, restaurants, accommodation providers, travel agencies, shops and local organisations to continue building a complete, welcoming wine tourism destination with its own unique identity.

With this event, the Ruta del Vino Almansa continues to work on promoting a destination that invites visitors to explore its towns, discover its wineries, enjoy its gastronomy and live authentic experiences around wine, heritage and landscape.
