Almansa Wine Route, recognised as Best Emerging Wine Route at the Wine Up Awards 2025

The Almansa Wine Route has been recognised as Best Emerging Wine Route at the Wine Up Guide Awards 2025, an achievement that represents a significant boost to the positioning of the territory within national wine tourism.

This recognition comes after its nomination in the Best in Class Wine Awards, where the Almansa Wine Route was selected as a finalist in the “Best Emerging Wine Route” category.

This category brings together wine routes from across Spain that, like ours, stand out for their ability to connect territory, heritage and culture through wine tourism.

Among the nominated routes were the Madrid Wine Route, the Calatayud Wine Route and the Arlanza Wine Route, all of them well-established proposals with a strong identity linked to their surroundings.

Finally, the Almansa Wine Route was announced as the winner thanks to public voting, reflecting the strong support received, which we would like to sincerely thank once again.

The awards ceremony took place on March 18th at the Inhala Garden Hotel in Madrid, during a gala attended by Cristina Maldonado, coordinator of the Almansa Wine Route, and Antonio González, president of the route. They received the award with great enthusiasm from Joaquín Parra, director of the Wine Up Guide, whose work and support for the sector we deeply appreciate.

This award highlights not only the quality of the wines from the Almansa Designation of Origin, but also the territory’s ability to create experiences around wine, bringing together landscape, heritage, gastronomy and culture. A proposal that contributes to boosting rural areas, attracting visitors and generating new opportunities in the region.

Currently, the Almansa Wine Route is made up of wineries, accommodation providers, restaurants, local product businesses, travel agencies, and the municipalities of Almansa, Alpera, Higueruela and Hoya-Gonzalo, all working together to offer a complete wine tourism experience, consolidating the route as a key project for the tourism and economic development of the area.

From the Almansa Wine Route, we would like to share this recognition with all the people and organisations that are part of this project.

An award that encourages us to keep growing and showcasing everything our territory has yet to be discovered.
