The Almansa Wine Route consolidates its national and international profile at FITUR 2026

For the fourth consecutive year, the Almansa Wine Route has been present at FITUR, the International Tourism Fair held in Madrid, reaffirming its commitment to promoting wine tourism in the region to professionals in the sector and national and international visitors. After making its debut at this leading trade fair in 2023 with the official presentation of the route, the 2026 edition of FITUR has provided a new impetus to raise awareness of the region’s potential and the uniqueness of the wines of the Almansa Designation of Origin.

Presentation of the Almansa Wine Route on Albacete Day

One of the highlights of the Almansa Wine Route’s presence at FITUR 2026 took place on Friday 23 January, coinciding with the celebration of Albacete Day. During this event, our Almansa Wine Route was presented to travel agencies, tour operators and the general public. The route was represented by Cristina Maldonado, coordinator of the Almansa Wine Route, and Antonio González, president of the route, who presented the main new developments and lines of work planned for this year in Madrid.

Joint promotion and professional meetings

The Almansa Wine Route was included in the Castilla La Mancha Wine Routes stand, sharing space with other well-established routes in the region: La Mancha, La Manchuela, Méntrida-Toledo and Valdepeñas. This joint presence helped to reinforce the image of wine tourism in Castile-La Mancha and highlight the diversity and quality of the region’s tourist offering. Throughout the fair, numerous meetings were held with travel agencies, tour operators, journalists and content creators, establishing new contacts and opening up future avenues of collaboration for the promotion of the route during 2026.

Gastronomy, wine and local produce

The presence at FITUR also served to promote the cultural and historical heritage of the towns associated with the Almansa Wine Route (Almansa, Alpera, Higueruela and Hoya Gonzalo), as well as other events of great importance for the region, such as the Moors and Christians Festival in Almansa, declared of International Tourist Interest, which included the screening of a promotional video for all attendees.

A very positive outcome for FITUR 2026

A very positive assessment of participation in FITUR 2026, according to Antonio González, ‘has been an excellent opportunity to continue positioning the Almansa Wine Route as a leading wine tourism destination in 2026, consolidating a project that continues to grow and evolve since its initial presentation in 2023 and which looks to the future with new proposals and experiences linked to wine, gastronomy and the region.’ FITUR 2026
