Wine tourism continues to grow in our region. According to data from a report by ACEVIN (Spanish Association of Wine Cities), in 2024 the wineries that form part of the Almansa Wine Route received more than 1,000 visits, a milestone that reflects the growing interest in discovering our wine tourism experiences, gastronomy, and heritage.
A significant proportion of these visits to wineries have been channeled directly through the Almansa Wine Route itself, demonstrating the importance of having a common platform for promotion and coordination that brings our wine tourism offering to visitors from all over Spain and, of course, to all those who also come from beyond our borders.
Wine tourism experiences that go beyond wine
Since its foundation, Ruta del Vino Almansa has managed to go one step further, enabling visitors to enjoy guided tours of our wineries, where they can learn about the essence of our wine-making tradition and how our wines are produced with the DO Almansa seal of quality.

All of this gives our route great added value thanks to the excellent local cuisine that can be enjoyed in the restaurants associated with the route, which pair perfectly with any of our red, rosé, and white wines. In addition, all those who visit us have been captivated by the rich heritage and culture, along with the leisure activities on offer, in the four municipalities of the Almansa Wine Route: Almansa, Alpera, Higueruela, and Hoya Gonzalo.
April, October, and November are the months with the most visits to the Almansa Wine Route.
The report prepared for ACEVIN shows that the busiest months were April, October, and November, coinciding with periods of milder weather in the fall.
This visitor figure for 2024 reflects the growing interest in discovering all the wine tourism, gastronomic, and heritage riches that the Almansa Wine Route has to offer: it currently has more than 30 associated companies and institutions! In this way, our route not only attracts visitors, but also boosts the local economy and strengthens the identity of our region. Our route continues to grow, establishing itself as an essential destination for lovers of wine, gastronomy, and culture.

Continue to grow in 2025
Following these positive results, the goal for 2025 is to continue growing and exceed the figures achieved in 2024. Cristina Maldonado, coordinator of the Almansa Wine Route, confirmed that “these figures from ACEVIN highlight the work we are doing at the Wine Route to promote wine tourism in our region. We hope to continue growing in 2025, exceeding the number of visits from the previous year every year.”
