Where is the Almansa Wine Route?
La Ruta del Vino de Almansa se encuentra al este de la provincia de Albacete, en la comunidad autónoma de Castilla-La Mancha. Esta ruta forma parte de la Denominación de Origen Almansa y abarca varios municipios con fuerte tradición vinícola y con vinos reconocidos en todo el mundo. Es un destino ideal para los amantes del vino y que busquen una experiencia gastronómica única: ¡enoturismo de muchísimo valor!
How to get to the Almansa Wine Route?
If you are coming by car, reaching Almansa by road is the most convenient and flexible option. The town has direct access via national highways. If you are coming to the Almansa Wine Route from Madrid, it is about 320 kilometers by highway (A-3 and A-31), although you can also get there by train or bus.
From Alicante, the A-31 motorway connects directly to Almansa, with turnoffs to Alpera, Higueruela, and Hoya Gonzalo after passing Almansa, allowing you to easily reach any of the four towns. If you are traveling to Almansa from Murcia, you can take the A-7 motorway to the Elche junction and then take the A-31 motorway towards Albacete, which will take you to Almansa.
From Valencia, you can reach Almansa via the A-35 motorway, heading towards Almansa from the capital of Turia. To get to Alpera, Higueruela, and Hoya Gonzalo, the turn-offs after Almansa are the same as those described above when traveling from Alicante to our route.
If you are traveling by train, Almansa station is connected by medium-distance lines to the main cities in the surrounding area (check timetables at www.renfe.com): Valencia, Alicante, and Madrid.
If you are flying from another part of Spain or outside Spain, the nearest airports are Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC), 1 hour away by car, Valencia Airport (VLC), 1 hour and 30 minutes away, or Albacete Airport (Los Llanos), with limited domestic flights.
How to get from Almansa to Higueruela, Alpera, and other towns along the route?
Una vez en Almansa, es posible visitar fácilmente el resto de los municipios que forman parte de la Ruta del Vino de Almansa. La mejor opción para desplazarse es en coche particular o de alquiler. También puedes optar por un taxi o alquilar un coche para moverte hasta las otras localidades, que se encuentran a muy pocos kilómetros de Almansa, tal y como te explicamos a continuación:
1. Higueruela
The distance from Almansa is about 35 kilometers, about 25 minutes by car on the CM-3209 and A-31 highways.
2. Alpera
The distance from Almansa is approximately 24 km, with an estimated driving time of 20 minutes via the A-31 motorway and the CM-3201 road.
3. Hoya Gonzalo
To reach the municipality of Hoya Gonzalo, 38 kilometers from Almansa, take the A-31 highway and then the AB-219 road.
