Once again, the Almansa Wine Route has participated in the General Assembly of the Spanish Association of Wine Cities, ACEVIN, held from May 11th to 13th in Requena, Spain\u2019s Wine City 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this 33rd edition, the Almansa Wine Route was represented by its president, Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez, and its coordinator, Cristina Maldonado, who attended the meeting alongside representatives from different Wine Routes of Spain and members of the association.<\/p>\n\n\n

A key meeting for the present and future of wine tourism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, the association reviewed the actions carried out throughout 2025 and presented some of the projects planned for 2026. One of the main highlights was the new Wine Tourism Intelligence System<\/strong>, a technological tool that will support the operation of the Wine Routes of Spain Tourism Observatory.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This system, developed within the \u201cExperiencias Turismo Espa\u00f1a\u201d programme, promoted by the Spanish State Secretariat for Tourism and funded by Next Generation EU funds, will be officially presented in Madrid on May 26th.<\/p>\n\n\n

In addition, other topics related to the national and international promotion of the Wine Routes of Spain, communication strategies and marketing campaigns were also discussed during the assembly.

Requena, host city of the Assembly and Spain\u2019s Wine City 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The host city for this edition, Requena, has been named Spain\u2019s Wine City 2026, an initiative promoted by ACEVIN to highlight the winemaking tradition, heritage and culture of the cities that are part of the association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of the complementary activities organised during the Assembly, representatives from the different wine routes had the opportunity to visit several wineries in the area, including Finca Calder\u00f3n and Bodegas Hispano Suizas, as well as a local cheese dairy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharing experiences to continue strengthening wine tourism<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Almansa Wine Route, participating in this type of event represents an opportunity to continue learning from other wine tourism destinations, exchange experiences and strengthen the work being carried out across the territory to promote wine tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cristina Maldonado, coordinator of the Almansa Wine Route, highlighted that \u201cthe most important thing about participating in these annual meetings is being able to share experiences with other routes while continuing to strengthen, year after year, a wine tourism sector that is constantly evolving.<\/strong>\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Almansa Wine Route highly values this new participation in the ACEVIN General Assembly, reaffirming its commitment to the development of wine tourism, the promotion of the territory and the consolidation of the region as a destination linked to wine, gastronomy, culture and heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n
